For World Book Day its fitting that #Derbyshire and the #Peak District should be celebrated. Jane Austen refers to there being “no finer county in England than Derbyshire”, and features “all the celebrated beauties of #Chatsworth, #Dovedale and the #Peaks” in her novel Pride and Prejudice. It is largely considered that Mr Darcy’s estate, the stunning Pemberley, is based on Chatsworth House. The House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is famous for its grandeur and beauty, surrounded by acres of land in the Derbyshire countryside. The House has also been used for several period films including The Duchess, The Wolfman and, the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice.
